Our nation’s promise of justice for all must extend to every person, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or any other factor. As a member of Congress and a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, I am committed to championing LGBTQ+ rights and ensuring every person can live free from discrimination and harassment.

Whether at work, at school, or in healthcare institutions, we must push back against discrimination in its many forms. I am a proud co-sponsor of the Equality Act to federally enshrine protections against discrimination for LGBTQ+ people across the country. Given the mounting attacks on LGBTQ+ people nationwide, including efforts in state and local governments to strip away their basic human rights, these protections are as important as ever.
