Internships run throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters for college students and recent graduates. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Interns assist with front office operations, answer phones, compile press clips, research legislation for the Member and staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.
NJ-10 connections are preferred, but not required.
The deadline for the summer 2025 session has passed. The deadline for the fall 2025 session is August 1, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
